Pillar 01 — 78 counters across 10 categories
US Economy Live
Every dollar the federal government makes, spends, and owes — plus the rates, prices, and labor data that set the tone for the whole economy. Some numbers here tick every second; others are levels and rates that update on the issuing agency's own schedule.
Live counters are cumulative totals (GDP generated, tax collected, the national debt) calculated from an official annual figure divided down to a per-second rate. Rate counters — inflation, the Fed Funds Rate, JOLTS job openings, regional Fed indices — are levels that don't tick; they're shown exactly as last reported, with an "as of" date, because faking movement on a rate would be misleading.
